The fomo app for Apple TV (“fomo for Apple TV,” “the TV app”) is a companion viewer for your existing fomo account. It lets you sign in on your television and watch the photos, videos, and posts shared within your circles on the big screen. It is a view-only experience — you cannot post, capture, message, or enter personal information on the TV.
This policy explains how the Apple TV app specifically handles your information. For the complete picture of how your fomo account, posts, and personal data are collected, used, and protected across fomo, please read our main Privacy Policy. The TV app draws on that same account and is governed by it; this page only covers what is different on Apple TV.
To use the TV app, you link it to your existing fomo account. The television displays a short, one-time pairing code, and you confirm that code in the fomo app on your phone to authorize the TV. We use this only to establish a secure session between your television and your account.
You never enter your password, email, or any personal details on the TV itself — authorization happens on your phone, where you are already signed in. You can unlink a television at any time from Connect to TV in the fomo phone app, which immediately ends that TV’s access to your account.
Once paired, the TV app accesses only what is needed to display your content:
The TV app has no access to a camera or microphone and does not collect your contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers.
We use this information solely to:
We do not use any of this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Your account content is stored and secured the same way as in the main fomo service — encrypted in transit, with access controlled by your account. The pairing session is a revocable token tied to your account, not a stored copy of your credentials. See “Data Storage & Security” in the main Privacy Policy.
The pairing/session token persists only while your television remains linked; unlinking the TV from Connect to TV in the phone app revokes it immediately. Diagnostic and crash data are retained on the same schedule described in the main Privacy Policy. Your posts and account data follow the retention rules in the main Privacy Policy and are unaffected by the TV app.
fomo is not directed to children, and the same age requirement that applies to the fomo app applies to the Apple TV app. See “Children’s Privacy” and “Age Requirement” in the main Privacy Policy.
We may update this Apple TV Privacy Policy from time to time. We will reflect any material changes here and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
